Vibro Saber?

The dual vibro saber looks nice i must say.. however i wonder how it works considering that it is not a true saber.
Can someone please clarify how does this work?

The blades come out of the top/flat part of the blade, if we made it actually a vibroblade it would be impossible to hit anyone with it.
While it is almost 2d, while making this I realised its kinda shit lmao
